My name is Alexander Nikolov, and I am a chef living and working in London (not the one in Canada, sorry). In my free time, for reasons I can’t fully explain, I am currently trying to write software. I also enjoy travel, thinking about economics and politics, photography, DIY, and cycling. I live together with my lovely wife and extremely food motivated cat, Bubs ¹. Outside the kitchen I’m building Cineboxd, a side project that tries to make London cinema listings and Letterboxd watchlists play nicely together.

I named this blog Writing Folder after the folder on my Mac where all of this sat, patiently waiting for me to do something with it.
